Finnish agrotechnology can help to boost productivity in Poland’s agricultural sector, while also creating new business opportunities for Polish distributors. This is the positive message from a delegation of Finnish companies which is visiting Warsaw on 7-8 March 2018 with the aim of establishing contacts with Polish business partners and distributors.
“Finnish technology is internationally recognised for its quality, efficiency and reliability. Driven by the needs of agricultural producers in Finland’s harsh climate, Finnish agri-tech companies invest heavily in R&D to create machines and cost-effective solutions for the most demanding conditions,” says Elina Puszkarzewicz, Program Director, Agrotechnology from Finland.
For example, DEMECA, Antti-Teollisuus and JPT-Industria – all participants in the delegation – share a strong commitment to innovation and want to bring something new to the Polish market.
DEMECA Bedding System
DEMECA specializes in farm building sanitation and ventilation.
“Healthy cows produce more milk, so we have developed an automatic cow stall bedding system that is very reliable and has low maintenance costs. The cleaner and drier bedding enabled by our patented system significantly improves milking hygiene and udder health, and so increases productivity,” says Pekka Vinkki, CEO, DEMECA.
Another innovative product is DEMECA’s crushing slurry pump.
“The pump makes it easier to spread sludge even if it contains silage or straw. The slurry also absorbs better in the field, reducing wash and nutrient loss. It also has a very smart control unit that enables self-cleaning and reduces blockages, which means less work for the farmer,” Vinkki explains.
DEMECA has also developed a modular farm-scale, cost-efficient biogas plant that has been tested in Finland for 15 years.
“The biogas plant is now actually a machine that also has funding and leasing options available, so it can be resold in the future if required.”
Antti Vacboost Wagon dryer
With grain processing and drying experience stretching back more than 65 years, Antti-Teollisuus is one of the leading Scandinavian companies in the field.
“In Poland, we are introducing the Antti Vacboost Wagon dryer which uses the same proven technology and is equally energy-efficient as our stationary dryers. The benefits of the wagon dryer are its short set-up time and convenience. As a machine it requires less permits and bureaucracy than a building project for a dryer. It dries all kinds of grain and seeds effectively and safely but does not need separate housing or shelter, regardless of the weather,” says Jouni Virtaniemi, Commercial Director, Antti-Teollisuus.
“We are specifically looking to partner with a strong distributor in Poland who is already selling agricultural machinery such as tractors and combine harvesters, and who knows the end-customers well.”
JPT-Industria’s FAMIX farm mixing line
JPT-Industria’s FAMIX feed factories provide a reliable, cost-efficient and ready to use solution for livestock farms. The automated feed mixer is controlled with a touch screen, enabling the flexible production of healthy feed to the highest EU quality standards.
“Our containerized and weatherproof mixing line is ready to use because all the equipment is pre-installed in Finland, and there is no need for a separate building. It can be moved to another location if required, and it also has very good collateral value compared to other solutions,” says Juha Hööpakka, Sales Manager, JPT-Industria.
Meet the Finnish companies in Warsaw
Polish media and companies that are interested in meeting the delegation should contact Business Finland’s office located at the Embassy of Finland in Warsaw.
“We are ready to arrange one-to-one meetings with the Finnish companies and help to matchmake possible partnerships,” says Kirsi-Maarit Poljatschenko, Vice President, Head of Region, Business Finland, Central and Eastern Europe.
